The Regenda Group – Showcasing regeneration to inspire the next generation

Here at Positive Footprints, we love inspiring children and one of our favourite ways to do that is through Career Carousels. These events form part of our Raising Aspirations programme which is being delivered in schools across the UK. Last week, we visited St Anne’s Catholic Primary School for a special edition Careers Carousel in partnership with The Regenda Group.

Colleagues from across The Regenda Group attended the World of Work event to talk all things careers, inspiring the children and teaching them about their different job roles across the nine organisations that make up the Group (including Positive Footprints!)

The core purpose of The Regenda Group is to regenerate places and create opportunities for people, so it was very special to share this message with the children.

From charity fundraising at Centre 56, to construction and maintenance roles at M&Y Maintenance and Construction, or marketing and sales at Redwing to tutor roles at The Learning Foundry – there were plenty of jobs for the children to ask plenty of questions about!

One of the young participants, 11-year-old Katra, said:

“Positive Footprints has really given me confidence and helped me think about my future. I’ve learnt so much about the world of work, whilst having so much fun. Everybody is interested in different things, so this has really helped everyone, it’s been amazing!”

Shannon, Year 6 Teacher at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School told us that:

“Everybody has been looking forward to the career carousel, we’ve been excited for it to inspire the children, raise their aspirations and show them the world of work. Our aim at St Anne’s is for the children to become confident communicators and they are showcasing that today. We are thrilled with the outcomes!”

Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said:

“I loved coordinating this event with St Anne’s Primary and colleagues at The Regenda Group. It was a special opportunity to showcase just how diverse the Group is and how many unexpected roles exist in regeneration, housing and construction.”

Mia Foster, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at The Regenda Group, added:

“It was great to see different members from across The Regenda Group talking so passionately about their roles. I felt a true sense of community at the event, as we came together to shape brighter futures and inspire the next generation.”

St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a stone throw’s away from The Regenda Group’s Grove Street regeneration project which will transform the Grove Street area by creating new homes, and a green, diverse and multi-generational neighbourhood where residents can thrive.
